As a self employed cleaner with Take a Break you can select your preferred schedule, location, and frequency of work to suit your family and personal lifestyle.

Our focus is exclusively on private homes, small offices, churches, and medical facilities, ensuring that we provide you with assignments we would accept ourselves.

The role primarily involves part-time, consistent work. Most of our clients seek a dependable and trustworthy cleaner with a DBS certificate for ongoing arrangements. There are also chances to earn additional income by covering for other cleaners as needed.

Our clientele ranges from independent seniors to busy professionals. We offer cleaning services on a weekly and biweekly basis. While some clients prefer standard cleaning tasks—such as cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, vacuuming, and dusting—others may require additional services like changing bed linens, ironing, or window washing. You have the flexibility to choose the clients and tasks that suit you best.

You can gradually increase your workload over a few weeks to help you transition smoothly into your new role. Hourly pay rates for your region can be found here.

If you’re near public transportation, having a car may not be essential, but we’ve noticed that cleaners with vehicles often have more job opportunities. A mobile phone is crucial for SMS/Telegram or WhatsApp communication to stay connected with us and clients.

In the first instance, please ring us on 0191 359 29 32 between 9 to 5pm Monday to Friday or 9 to 12 noon on a Saturday, and the answering machine picks up calls during busy periods and out of hours.
